The ICT Authority is tasked with rationalizing and streamlining the management of all Government of Kenya ICT functions. Its broad mandate entails enforcing ICT standards in Government and enhancing the supervision of its electronic communication. The Authority also promotes ICT literacy, capacity, innovation and enterprise in line with the Kenya National ICT Masterplan, 2017.

Responsible for: Overall coordination of special ICT projects in Government
Key Tasks for the Special Projects Lead Job
- Oversee the execution of special ICT projects in Government
- Ensure that special ICT projects are implemented within the framework of the Government Enterprise Architecture (GEA)
- Ensure that projects are supported by best practice knowledge and they demonstrate business value and financial viability
- Track the performance of special ICT projects throughout their lifecycle
- Ensure that special ICT projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Ensure the hand-over to operational support (Infrastructure Support, Applications Support and Service Management
- Ensure business benefits can be realized or that risks inhibiting realization are highlighted
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Special Projects Lead Job Qualifications
- Degree in an ICT related field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology and Engineering)
- Seven years’ experience in the ICT field, including IT Governance, systems development, implementation and maintenance / enhancements of solutions operational responsibility in a corporate/public sector organization
Personal skills and attributes required
- Project management skills and ability to prioritize
- Problem solving skills
- Management experience in leading and developing an ICT support team
- Analytical skills; able to evaluate information and situations and take sound decisions
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills
- Proven leadership skills
