Duties for the Assistant ECDE Teacher Job
- Class teaching
- Organizing and facilitating play/learning activities to enable children cope with primary school life
- Caring and nurturing spiritual, moral, social, mental and physical growth of children
- Managing ECDE centres and keeping professional records (schemes of work, lesson plans, daily programme of activities e.t.c) and ensuring children’s safety and security
- preparing and developing play/learning materials
- Giving guidance on nutritional requirements of ECDE learners
- General knowledge on administration of ECDE centers.
Assistant ECDE Teacher Job Requirements
For direct appointment to this grade, a candidate must be in possession of;-
- Certificate in early childhood development education offered by KNEC/Ministry of Education or its approved equivalent
- Must have a certificate in computer proficiency from a recognized institution
- In addition to the above requirements, an ECDE teacher must have the following key personal attributes and core competences;-
- Eighteen (18) years old and above
- Modest and of sound mind
- Valid medical records
- Relate well with children, parents and other members of society
Core Competencies
- Ability to think creativity and constructively
- Excellent communication skills
- Manage records
