Our client is currently looking to hire a Business Centre Manager for a coworking space in Nairobi.
He/she will be in charge of overseeing all aspects of the workspace operations including a programme of ongoing events.
On top of the duties you would expect of Business Centre Manager, a proactive interest in enterprise is essential and a vocal enthusiasm for this location in Nairobi and all it has to offer to businesses, residents and the community.
About the role
This is an exciting role, building on a well established workspace that has focus on:
- Building, growing and maintaining full occupancy of the co-working spaces by creating exposure for the business centre’s rentable space through social media, listings on websites, advertising and publicity, and networking
- Maintaining stakeholder relationships by further developing opportunities for the workspace and business enterprises
- Marketing and telling the story of the business centre through planning a number of events at the co-working space to foster community, contribute to the life of the space, and attract new members.
Job purpose:
- To support affordable creative workspace development
- To manage, oversee and direct all aspects of the business centre’s operation including letting, memberships, finance, sales, marketing, and events.
- To create a collaborative environment amongst our members through events and personal introductions in line with profit objectives.
- To maintain 100% occupancy, achieve sales target goals, and manage churn.
- To ensure that workspaces are fully operational and processes are running smoothly.
- To maximise the business centre’s revenue by implementing attentive cost control measurements, using commercial flair to proactively promote all that the business centre has to offer.
- To maintain (joint) company standards and expectations.
- To be a firm but friendly leader who sparks enthusiasm within the enterprise work space
- To strive to make the business centre a wonderful place for all.
Business Centre Manager Job Responsibilities
- Reach sales goals for creative and business workspaces; build membership of coworking space.
- Develop initiatives designed to create connections between members, including member introductions, overseeing events, electronic and print communications, and building walkthroughs.
- Produce comprehensive quality control reports that allow all stakeholders to improve the member experience.
- Solve member related issues to ensure a cohesive community and manage member expectations. · Take responsibility for sales and marketing dynamics.
- Oversee events to ensure there is a good balance of educational, member appreciation, and lead generating/sales related events.
- Prepare reports that outline sales and marketing progress
- Engage in the wider environment attending events and networking with local startups and organisations.
- Building expenses management.
- Ensure building and member safety as it relates to fire and emergency plans.
- Establish meaningful relationships with external stakeholders.
Qualifications for the Business Centre Manager Job
- Experience of developing and maintaining key stakeholder relations
- Customer service and/or sales and marketing experience required
- Operations experience required
- Knowledge of building management and property maintenance issues

- Experience of processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records and chasing aged debtors · Experience of monitoring and reporting
