Reporting to the Managing Director, the Chief ICT Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and securing ICT systems including overseeing implementation of ICT projects.The job holder will also interpret and implement ICT policies and strategies.
Chief ICT Officer Job Responsibilities
- Participate in TFC’s strategic planning process and advise the IT Steering Committee and the Board of
- Directors on ICT policy and strategy issues affecting the tourism sector
- Develop and implement TFC’s ICT strategy in consultation with the Board Committee responsible for ICT
- Oversee development and implementation TFC’s ICT policy
- Develop, manage and monitor the ICT budgets in line with the overall TFC’s goals and objectives
- Guide and coordinate all ICT projects related to selection, acquisition, development and installation of major information systems for TFC while managing all ICT vendor relationships
- Ensure that design and selection of ICT applications and infrastructure supports the strategic objectives of TFC
- Champion any system changes and effectively manage the implementation of new initiatives
- Responsible for TFC’s information security by developing and overseeing the implementation of TFC systems security strategies, policies and procedures for confidentiality, integrity and availability of data
- Ensure that TFC’s disaster recovery system is fully operational at all times for business continuity
- Ensure that all information systems network and infrastructure operate according to internal standards, external accrediting agency standards, regulatory agencies and legal requirements
- Develop service level agreements between ICT and the business and ensure the department meets objectives of the performance contract and cascaded individual performance goals
- Liaise with the all departments to continuously identify new ICT requirements
- Act as a change manager when defining and executing change requirements
- Coach, mentor, develop and provide leadership to the ICT team to ensure high performance and effective succession planning in the department.
Qualifications for the Chief ICT Officer Job
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other related field.
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management, Information Systems, Computer Science or other related field.
- Any ICT specialized certification such as MCSE, CISA, CISA, IC3, CCNP, OCP, A+, CISSP, CISCO etc.
- At least 6 years’ experience with 3 years in a managerial position.
- Membership to a professional body.
- Conversant with ERP, ICT Infrastructure systems
- Strong Leadership and Management skills
- Ability to design long term plans
- Analytical and presentation skills
- Ability to interpret long term plans, programs and budgets developed at Senior Management Level
- Project Management skills
- Ability to develop plans, programs, SOPS and coordination of workflows
- Strategic Management skills

- Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation
