Langata Hospital Limited is seeking to employ a Theater technician who will be responsible for the daily running and upkeep of the theatre.
Responsibilities
- To carry out general cleaning of the sluice room.
- To receive and wash all instruments, clean soiled line and dispose of all refuse in accordance with infection control.
- Prepare surgical setup immediately prior to commencement of procedure.
- Ensure instruments for procedure are available and sterile
- Theater instruments inventory.
- Clean and pack dirty instruments following the infection control protocol.
- Check used sets for completeness and report missing items.
- Assist in scrubbing with nurses.
- Autoclaves the packs.
- Clean soiled linen before sending to laundry.
- Prepare and updates instruments card.
- Puts sharps, dressing materials in appropriate container ready for incineration.
- Removes unused dressing sutures, loose needles and places them in the appropriate containers ready for sterilization.
- Prepares specimen bottles/containers.
- Assist in weekly high dusting, cleaning, and oiling of stretchers and trolleys.
- Counting of theater line, boots, packs, and documents.
- Any other duties assigned by the Hospital Manager.
- Adhere to safety requirements to prevent injury to patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Diploma as a Theater Technician
- Certificate of Good Conduct.
- At least two years’ experience in the theatre
