Principal Finance Officer at The Kenya Cultural Centre

The Kenya National Theater which is at the Kenya Cultural Centre was re-launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta on September 4th 2015 after being renovated to a state of the art facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Director/CEO, the job holder will;

  1. Implement financial regulations, policies, strategies and plans;
  2. Ensure effective and efficient use of financial resources;
  3. Authorize commitments and expenditures;
  4. Prepare financial reports and analyse income and expenditure against budgets;
  5. Prepare budget estimates and undertake budgetarily and cost controls;
  6. Coordinate preparation of budgets based on work plans;
  7. Coordinate preparation of budget proposals, financial plans and cash flow projections;
  8. Develop budget utilization reports;
  9. Undertake financial and accounting management;
  10. Design, monitor and supervise the implementation of financial internal controls;
  11. Coordinate financial audits and ensure implementation of financial recommendations.
  12. Any other responsibilities as may be assigned to the employee and as are necessary to achieve the Centre’s objectives

Requirements/Qualifications

The appropriate candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications;

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option) or it’s equivalent from a recognized university;
  2. CPA (K) or it’s equivalent;
  3. Membership of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or any other recognized professional body in good standing;
  4. Minimum four (4) years post qualification work experience in the finance field;
  5. Demonstrate competence in Government accounting procedures and reporting;
  6. Must demonstrate strong bookkeeping and accounting skills;
  7. Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks;
  8. Proficiency in computer application;
  9. Demonstrated competence in work performance; and
  10. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Remuneration

The successful candidate shall be offered competitive remuneration at KCC Job Group 5, a House allowance, Commuter allowance and Leave allowance as per government rates.

Terms of Service

3-year Contract renewable subject to individual performance
