Business Development Manager at Kenya Women Microfinance

KWFT is the leading and the largest MFI that has a great command in the market share, evident in the growing number of clients over the years, currently KWFT serves over 800,000 clients across the country and they are served by over 2800 dedicated employees. KWFT is a fully fledged Microfinance Bank offering banking services that include both savings and credit products that cater for the needs of Micro, Small and Medium sized entrepreneurs. KWFT’s products and services are open to Organized Groups, Individuals, and Corporates. As at December 2017, KWFT had a loan book Ksh 19.4 Billion, assets valued at Ksh 28.9 Billion and deposits of Ksh 16.4 Billion.

Overall Job Purpose

The main purpose of this role is to identify partnership opportunities,prepare and submit well done proposals and presentations for Strategic Partnership Engagements. In addition, the job holder is expected to scan the environment for new funding opportunities for different projects within the Institutions Strategic Direction

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and execute a Partnerships Management framework and Strategies to achieve the KWFT’s objectives.
  2. Help create and maintain trusted relationships with existing business partners.
  3. Identify and analyze opportunities for new strategic business alliances as well as funding and update management on viable partnerships.
  4. Write, analyze, submit and pitch high quality proposals/ presentations for new business partnerships with key stakeholders including the Government, County Governments, Developmental Partners, Private Sector and Social Investors.
  5. Update and share report to all relevant parties on partnership status and activities to improve intercompany communication for partner management.
  6. Monitor and review the Service level agreements (SLA) with various Partners to ensure compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University Degree preferably in Business or Project Management. Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Partnerships and Grant Management
  • Proven track record and success in stakeholder and partnership management in the field of business and or charity or non-profit organizations including Grants Management.
  • Ability to research, identify, assess and develop new collaborative opportunities and relationships with key stakeholders including, National Government, County Government, Developmental Partners, Private Sector, Social Investors.
  • Experience of writing and packaging persuasive proposals and budgets for funding.
  • Experience of producing high quality project progress reports.
  • Strong communications skills (written, verbal and presentation skills)
  • Excellent Networking and people management skills and be proactive in nature
