Position: Business Development Officer

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for Business Development Officer, Jubilee Life Insurance Limited. The position holder will report to the Business Development Manager and will be based at Head Office, Nairobi.

Role Purpose

Managing relationships with broker partners and driving business through them. Ensuring that broker sales officers are preferential to the Jubilee corporate life product. Assisting in procurement of new business and marketing corporate life products to clients (group life, group last expense,) in full compliance with the laid down procedures and guidelines as set out in the operations manuals.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Business Growth
    1. Devising and Implementing selling strategies and campaigns to existing brokers
    2. Locate, propose, and develop potential business partnerships with new brokers
    3. Following up on identified prospects and introducing Jubilee Insurance products and proceeding to close sales and collect the premium as applicable
    4. Ensure production as per set budget targets
  2. Relationships Management
    1. Assisting the Business Development Manager to build strong business relationships with our existing intermediaries and marketing Jubilee Insurance products.
  3. New Products
  4. • Assisting in researching the marketplace for details for the design of innovative products for corporate life
  5. 4) Marketing brochures, write–ups, and merchandise
    1. Prepare and disseminate material essential for intermediaries to facilitate on boarding of clients
    2. Implement training of intermediary staff.
    3. Promote the Jubilee brand with brokers to ensure Top of mind awareness
  6. Gathering Information on the Market
  7. Assist in maintaining accurate and up to date information of market trends, competition, and products in the market (Group Life Business).

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing, Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science, or any other related field.
  2. IT proficient (especially Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Relevant Experience

At least three years’ experience in the business development section of group life products, or four years’ experience in
servicing of group life. Experience in two or more life companies and supervision of a team (more than 2) will be an added advantage.
