BURN has made and sold more than 300,000 improved cookstoves to-date impacting 1.5 million people. It has built the first modern cookstove manufacturing facility on the continent, which is powered by solar, staffed by 50% women, and makes more than one stove per minute
We are looking for a Maintenance Manager who will be responsible for the smooth, continuous operation of Burn’s equipment, tooling, systems, and facility.
Roles for the Maintenance Manager Job
- Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
- Perform troubleshooting to solve minor issues
- Identify recurring problems and work with Engineering to develop a permanent solution
- Oversee RCA to identify true causes of problems
- Respond to emergency calls for maintenance
- Plan and oversee all repair and maintenance activities
- Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
- Monitor, maintain and repair Burn’s electrical systems including the standby generator
- Monitor, maintain and repair Burn’s compressed air system
- Monitor, maintain and repair hydraulic systems on Burn equipment
- Monitor, maintain and repair the various tooling used in stove production
- Monitor, maintain and repair the various machines used in stove production
- Contact and schedule outside contractors as needed
- Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff
- Identify, organize and replenish equipment spares and place orders when necessary
- Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
- Ensure health and safety policies are complied with to industry standards
Maintenance Manager Job Requirements:
- 5-7+ years in maintenance
- Technical background
- Experience with power systems
- Has managed people previously
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Systems thinking
- Experience with fixing machinery (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.)
