Equip Africa College of Medical and Health Sciences is a premiere institute of learning offering courses in the field of health and medical sciences. We aspire to train competent healthcare professionals who will deliver quality compassionate healthcare services that meet diverse health needs of the community. The college is based in Kitale, Kenya. We are looking for passionate and qualified individuals to fill the following open positions.
Duties for the Laboratory Technicians Job
- Liaising with academic staff to discuss timetables, equipment requirements and work plans;
- running trials of experiments prior to classes and then demonstrating techniques for experiments;
- preparing equipment and chemicals before lessons from test tubes to state-of-theart microscopes;
- maintaining and repairing equipment and laboratory apparatus;
- Training Quality Healthcare Professionals
- record keeping, e.g. for students’ practical sessions, tracking methods, results, etc;
- ensuring that equipment is properly cleaned and that chemicals, drugs and other materials are
- appropriately stored;
- cataloguing recordings and making them available when requested
- supporting the work of teachers in classes and laboratory sessions and giving technical advice to staff and students;
- working with individual students and supporting them on research projects;
- managing the stock control of chemicals and equipment;
Laboratory Technicians Job Requirements
- Should have a Degree/Diploma in Laboratory Sciences
- Must be registered with KLMTTB
- At least 3 Years working experience in the relevant field
- Excellent Analytical skills, scientific and technical knowledge and good IT skills
- Good clinical and laboratory practices training.
- Strong practical and organizational skills with the ability to manage your own workload
- Communication and team working skills with the ability to cope with competing demands
- Good interpersonal skills and high degree of professionalism and ethics
- Should be able to work under minimum supervision
