Accountant Job Responsibilities
This is the entry grade for Accountants. An Accountant III will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting work of limited scope and under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities include:-
- Examination of receipt and payment vouchers;
- Verifying and posting data to the enterprise resource planning (ERP), ;
- Verifying postings to the general ledger and making corrections as necessary.
- Verifying entries in the cashbooks and advising the cashiers on corrections to be made as necessary.
- Limited preparation of bank reconciliation statements.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements for the Accountant Job
For direct appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of at least C (Plain) or its equivalent; and
- Pass in part I of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA I) or its recognized equivalent from a recognized examination body.
