The System Engineer monitors design layouts to ensure conformance to specifications. This position oversees the work done by field officers.
The core responsibilities of the System Engineer are in ensuring quality of the work done by field officers and timeliness of delivery of projects. The person will be responsible for providing guidance to Installation activities for our client.

- 100% survey and design layouts for projects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
- 0% delays in site attendance.
- Response to clients should be done in a day
- 100% Provide guidance and assign tasks to field engineers.
- 0% delays arising due to poor project implementation.
- 90% achievement of project charter equipment.
- Timely completion of activities as assigned by the managing director or his representative as per SLA or task sub-forecasts.
- Ensuring that the field officers 100% perform quality work.
- Ensuring 0% accidents due to failure of following instructions.
- 100% adherence to work procedures and guidelines.
- 0% misuse of company resources.
- Ensuring 100% customer satisfaction in all tasks done.
- 100% Maintain documentation relating to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
- Submit reports within a day or closure of work.
- Prompt receiving and assigning of materials and equipment’s to field engineers.
- Ensure to wear personal Protective equipment at all time.
- Ensuring 0% customer complains due to work mishap.
- Ensuring 95% completion of tasks assigned in time and cost.
Responsibilities
- Installation, commissioning and integration of telecommunications equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring the servers are backed up, performance and availability are monitored, and that the server data is secure from unauthorized access.
- Troubleshooting equipment/network failures.
- Calculate dimensions, square footage, profile and component specifications, and material quantities, using calculator or computer.
- Draft detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for projects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Read, interpret and review project designs to determine solutions and material requirements.
- Confer with supervisor to determine project details, such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions.
- Inspect project site and evaluate contractor/team’s work to detect design malfunctions and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes.
- Plan and conduct field surveys to locate new sites and analyze details of project sites.
- Develop plans and estimate costs for installation of systems, utilization of facilities, or construction of structures.
- Report maintenance problems occurring at project site to supervisor and negotiate changes to resolve system conflicts.
- Conduct materials and equipment test and analysis, using tools and equipment, and applying engineering knowledge.
- Supervise the technical team in the field.
- Optimize resources (manpower, equipment and materials) to ensure efficient and timely completion of the project.
- Ensures that work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment and materials. Prevents the misuse of equipment, materials and tools;
- Ability to read, interpret and follow procedures.
- Understand and enforces strict compliance with all Safety procedures, including all Company rules and regulations.
- Ensure checklists are filtered and submitted to the project management.
- Any other duties and responsibilities assigned to by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent expertise.
- Working knowledge of wireless technologies and /or Tower construction.
- Relevant certifications desirable
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Skills and Knowledge
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Thorough understanding of industry practices/standards, operations, contract management.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team-oriented environment; Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills who is comfortable in a cross-functional, multi-cultural environment.
- Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to clearly explain issues to contractors and fellow employees.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Good time management.
- Ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for fiber construction.
- Fiber and Microwaves knowledge.
- History of adhering to safety procedures and practices.
- High degree of focus and attention to detail/strong organizational skills.
- Be able to speak/communicate clearly with customers, employees, and utility inspectors/regulators.
