The Network Maintenance Engineer troubleshoots, locates and restores equipment from malfunctions. The ideal candidate will be responsible in monitoring all functions around the network, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and oversee preventative maintenance.

- 100% efficiency in location of malfunctions and restoration of equipment.

Responsibilities
- Use electronic test equipment, such as optical power meters and multimeters, to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions. Use computer-aided diagnostics and digital logic devices as needed to locate malfunctions. Calibrate test equipment for proper operation.
- Remote corrective actions supporting such as, monitor all functions around the network, responsible for alarm surveillance, event management and Tier 1 troubleshooting support, interface/work with repair/restoration of cell site equipment to include power and telecom
- Perform scheduled maintenance that could include software updates and off hours testing and issue outage reports, trouble tickets, and dispatch market personnel as required.
- Assemble, install, configure and test units of local area networks requiring use of standard interface protocols.
- Assist field technicians in maintenance of cell site equipment, Trouble shoot software and hardware issues.
- Confer with supervisor to determine project details, such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions.
- Implementing preventative maintenance programs, adhering to safety regulations and enforcing industry requirements.
- Confer with manufacturer’s representatives, faculty, and staff in determining equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent expertise.
- Working knowledge of wireless technologies and /or Tower construction.
- Certification in any industry standards desirable.
Skills and Knowledge
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a busy telecommunications environment.
- Experience in routing and switching networking, Unix, Windows Operating Systems knowledge of GSM packet switch infrastructure.
- Thorough understanding of industry practices/standards, operations, contract management.
- Proven Analytical & problem solving skills when handling faults;
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team-oriented environment; Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills who is comfortable in a cross-functional, multi-cultural environment.
- Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to clearly explain issues to contractors and fellow employees.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Good time management.
- Ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for fiber construction.
- Fiber and Microwaves knowledge.
- History of adhering to safety procedures and practices.
- High degree of focus and attention to detail/strong organizational skills.
- Be able to speak/communicate clearly with customers, employees, and utility inspectors/regulators.
