Manager.Fuel Procurement at Kenya Airways

PURPOSE (A statement of the reason for the
position’s existence. A summary of the
role of the position)

 

The Fuel Manager procurementrole reports to the Head of Supply Chain, and
is responsible for managing all Strategic, Operational and Administrative
aspects of Jet
fuel for KQ, GSE and General Maintenance, including but not limited to:

·
Jet fuel planning, budgeting and forecasting;

·
Sourcing and ensuring security of supply;

·
Provision of fuel management reporting;

·
Managing fuel related risks including KQ
compliance with IATA and IFQP quality and safety standards;

·
Meeting ETS and tax legislation requirements; and

·
Optimization of fuel efficiencies to minimize
airline fuel bill and environmental impact

·
Strategic sourcing of GSE ensuring the same are
in good working condition by procuring parts in time to guarantee
serviceability;

·
Optimization of General maintenance to ensure
that KQ gets value for money.

Strategy

v Identify fuel
optimisation initiatives in alignment with business requirements and
strategic objectives and plan budget specifically linked to the fuel function.

v Development of Fuel
procurement strategies which align with KQ strategic goals.

v Monitoring Fuel supply markets,
e.g. increases, shortages changes in suppliers and interpreting the impact of
these trends on company strategies to deliver the best value for money.

v Identify the key
strategic fuel cost control areas to be implemented to assure the
organization sound cost management.

v Develop contingency
supply options to ensure full support on fuel supply at all active and
alternate airports.

v Compile the
Annual Business Plan for Fuel Section.

v Contribute to the optimisation of the Fuel Management function through
actively participating in improvement projects that will protect against
risks in the function and promote continuous improvement.

v Plan, budget and
forecast fuel volumes in conjunction with flight operations.

v Actively monitor the
expenditure and service delivery against plans and budgets and highlight any
variation to the HOSC: Financial Reporting.
