Manager, ICT at Brand Kenya Board Corporation

Brand Kenya Board (BKB) is a State Corporation established in March 2008 through legal notice No. 38 of 2008. The establishment of the Board underpins the government’s commitment to put in place an integrated coordinating mechanism for building and enhancing the country’s image, national identity and managing its international reputation as well as rallying citizens together for greater social harmony and cohesiveness.

Job Specifications

The duties and responsibilities of the officer entail: –

  • Providing leadership in formulation and implementation ICT strategies
  • Ensuring adherence to ICT policies procedures and standards
  • Overseeing ICT programs and activities
  • Managing, coordinating and supervising ICT unit/division
  • Manage ICT Systems Quality Control and Assurance
  • Establishing mechanisms for disaster recovery and business continuity
  • Drawing ICT budget and procurement plans
  • Responsible for managing and overseeing and managing the ecommerce
  • Create and maintain an online business plan
  • Prepare reports and analyses conversion numbers
  • Developing SEO/PPC Strategy in Liaison with the Digital Officers
  • Coordinating systems development, implementation and maintenance of ICT systems;
  • Liaising with users to ensure that their ICT needs are met
  • Reviewing and evaluating feasibility studies and reports for implementation
  • Supervising and managing ICT projects within the planned time deadlines and budget projections
  • Preparing work plans, conducting staff performance appraisal and submitting performance reports
  • Developing and implementing measures for staff capacity building
  • Facilitating procurement of ICT equipment and services
  • Ensuring adherence to ISO &Risk Management in the Department

Person Specification

For appointment to this position, a candidate must have: –

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Business Administration or any other related discipline from a recognized Institution
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Communication Technology/Computer Science or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Minimum KCSE C+ (plus) or its equivalent
  • A minimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience three (3) of which must have been in a management position in the public or private sector
  • Professional qualification and membership to a professional body
  • Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
  • Fulfilled the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
