CitiGroup Job Vacancy : Trade Product Manager

Job Description:
•Trade Kenya Business Strategy development and formulation
•Trade Kenya Revenue and Net Income growth
•Developing, coaching and training both Citi’s clients and Citi staff (product stakeholders) on existing products and solutions to ensure continuous awareness and effectiveness of execution
•Manage Trade metrics including Monthly Financials, CRM information, MIS Process, etc. to ensure pipeline discipline and that all revenues are properly accounted for and mapped to Trade Product.
•Support the Relationship Management team by attending customer calls to help originate trade deals, preparation of complex, structured trade proposals , preparation of Trade GDR’s and presentations to customers
•Revenues: responsible for identification, developing and managing deal pipeline, and structuring product solutions such that revenues are achieved. Revenues are jointly matrixed and marketed with relationship managers.
•Assets: Ensure availment under approved credit programs/ facilities and interface with relationship management to ensure credit provision and line utilisation. Tracking return on trade assets by ensuring that assets booked carry acceptable risk and ROBC-compliant pricing. Partnering with RM team to ensure that trade assets are healthy and any deterioration is spotted early.
•Expenses: Ensure that budget is not exceeded and that where possible savings are created
Key Responsibilities:

Citi Kenya Trade Strategy – Offer leadership within the Trade and Treasury Solutions department in developing and translating the country strategy, in partnership with business partners, into tangible business growth and revenue results using Citi’s 5 pillars of trade – Supply Chain Finance, Trade Services (Letters of Credit, Guarantees, and Documentary Collections), Trade Finance (Working Capital Finance, and Account Receivable Financing), Export Agency Finance and Commodity Trade Finance (for both soft commodities and Oil) for both Public and Corporate Sectors.
•Revenue and expenses – Continuous focus on revenue growth and expense management to exceed targets set by the franchise
•Assets and liabilities growth –
-Managing US$600 million trade credit facilities in Kenya
-Management of local and cross-border trade balance sheet to ensure optimal use of franchise capital
•Regional Trade Product support –
-Liaise with the regional (Europe Middle East and Africa) office of the strategies to be applied in trade business management in Kenya.
-Support Kenya trade business in providing trade product transaction solutions and approvals.
•Country Portfolio Management – Ensuring a pristine controls environment as business and products are developed and utilized.
•Spearheading digitization and use of automated systems in support of trade services instruments and trade finance transaction
-This is instrumental in significantly improving transaction turn-around-time through system delivery of LCs, Guarantees and trade finance transactions
-Reduction in processing errors through automated bulk transaction delivery of trade finance transaction combined with straight through processing
•Responsible for structuring complex trade solutions
•Financial reporting – meticulously reviewing reported revenue to minimize leakages and surprises
•Remedial Management – continuously work with the partnership of Relationship Management and Risk teams to manage deteriorating and troubled credits and portfolio.
•Budgeting and projections – Instrumental in defining challenging and realistic revenue and expense projections
•Training – training both Citi’s clients and Citi staff (product stakeholders) on existing products and solutions to ensure continuous awareness and effectiveness of execution
•New and existing Product and Product program review and development – review of Citi capabilities to tailor trade product solutions in line with client needs and ensure alignment with other business segments and regulatory requirements
•RFP responsibility – Development and communication of winning proposals
•Continuous price review to ensure accuracy, optimum returns and client satisfaction
•Transaction-by-transaction review of capital allocation to ensure return thresholds and hurdles are met on Basel Capital (RoBC)
•Involvement in Credit roundtables and credit/product approval calls – support credit facilities for trade transaction to obtain Business and Risk approval
•Deal Pipeline –
-Development of a trade product pipeline to ensure revenue momentum is sustained
-Weekly deal pipeline review to track closure – deal wins and implementation
•Extensive client face time: Transaction origination, structuring and closure sourced directly through client interaction and from the Relationship Management team
•Conduct Trade market sizing to identify potential trade wallet and opportunities
•Provide technical support to Trade Back office, TTS coverage and other teams involved in marketing of trade products
•Global Deal Review and Transactional presentation – Approval template preparation and presentation at deal review discussion at the regional and global platform depending on the asset size and complexity of deal
•Establish and maintain communications with Operations and Technology, Client Coverage and customers to support the enhancement of sales knowledge, current issues and developments and effective delivery of trade products
•Maintenance of working contact with internal and external counsel as regards legal expertise on trade structures

Knowledge/Experience:
