Job Purpose
The individual will be responsible for providing leadership to the Retail Banking team in delivering quality service to clients across all delivery channels.
The role will be responsible for driving the development and management of retail products, as well as attracting and retaining set target clients.
Head of Retail Banking Job Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct and control retail banking activities and resources in order to meet retail banking objectives
- Prepare and monitor branch business budgets to ensure targets are met
- Review and action on market intelligence, and marketing plans in order to meet retail banking strategic objectives
- Develop, implement and continuously review policies and procedures to guide branch operations and ensure adequate controls.
- Coordinate resource allocation within the branch network so as to facilitate optimal operations and service delivery
- Liaise with other departments to ensure the seamless delivery of services within the branch network and to all client customers countrywide.
- Review and control the branches operating costs within the budget
- Monitor and follow up on defaulting accounts in order to manage Non-Performing Loan Book within set targets.
- Provide management information on the Retail portfolio on status of accounts, excesses, defaulting accounts and exceptions on a regular basis, as and when required.
Qualifications for the Head of Retail Banking Job
- Degree in Business or a business-related field
- Minimum of 10 years banking experience in retail banking/business development or relationship management, 3 of which should be at a senior management position.
