The County Government of Bomet through the Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions: –
Marketing & Business Development Officer – J/G CPSB 10
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Assistant Director/Marketing & Value addition, the officer will be responsible for:-
- Implementation of value addition activities at Value addition centres
- Implementation of the development of value addition structures and system at the centers.
- Participating in developing annual work plan and budget for value addition centres.
- Ensuring quality assurance for value addition programs and projects.
- Capacity building of groups and societies to support the development of Value addition component and Support the up -scaling of sustainable post-harvest technologies.
- Preparing quarterly, semiannual and annual reports.
- Coordinating marketing activities at Sub county level.
- Assisting in implementation of marketing policies, activities and strategies at Sub County level.
- Collecting, collating and communicating data on farmers produce at the Sub County.
- Training farmers on the Marketing and quality standards at the sub county level
- Liaising with the multipurpose cooperatives on post-harvest handling of farmers produce.
- Training farmers on marketing best practices and after sales services.
- Coordinating market activation activities at Sub county level.
- Doing weekly and monthly reports on marketing activities.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned
Requirements
- Be a holder of bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Dairy Technology, Food Science or related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum three (3) years relevant experience.
