Reporting to the Senior Manager Channels Solutions, the position holder will Provide 1st and 2nd line functional and technical support of Oracle Enterprise Resource and Planning system, Retail Systems and other related systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert support (and management where applicable) for POS and ERP modules and related applications.
  • Ensure Data and/or Application Availability of the POS and ERP modules and related applications.
  • Provide first line support (and management where applicable) for all other internal applications within the ERP team’s jurisdiction.
  • Escalate and source expertise where necessary
  • Involvement in testing new products, services and technologies.
  • Test new and upgraded applications before implementation and rollout.
  • Proactive Application monitoring of POS and ERP Systems.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Computer Science or any other Information or Technology related discipline
  • Programming skills in PL/SQL is a pre-requisite
  • LINUX certification is an added advantage
  • LINUX Scripting and basic administration
  • Oracle E-Business suite training is an added advantage
  • At least 2-3 years experience in a client server environment with two years DBA and / or Application support experience

Reporting to the Manager – Solutions & Architecture, the position holder will be responsible for translating business requirements of Enterprise customers into technical solutions and describing them through the set of architectures, design artifacts and implementation approach using the most appropriate technology to achieve the intended business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consultative and always seeks to first understand the customer’s business, information, and application requirements
  • Responsible for designing, specifying and selecting of solutions, considering functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure and performance.
  • Responsible for the delivery of Customer technical proposals; production of both High Level and detailed customer design to match customers’ business objectives
  • Provides current best practice and 3rd Party solution alternatives as part of the solutions design document
  • Establishes or enhances customer relationships, provide technical guidance on engagements, and identifies new opportunities within customer and prospect accounts
  • Responsible for identifying, establishing, and managing Proof of Concept (POC), Proof of Value and/or Benchmark engagements, in the customer environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Computer Science or Telecommunication Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering or in a relevant field
  • At least 5 years work experience in design/implementation/deployment of business solutions in a Service Provider environments for Enterprise customers
  • Project Management and Technical Support experience an added advantage
  • Broad technical expertise combined with business acumen and strong consulting skills
  • Knowledge of future trends/changes and the ability to articulate the likely impact of these to customers

Head of M-Pesa Risk and Compliance

We are pleased to announce the role of Head of M-Pesa Risk and Compliance Risk for M-Pesa business in the region. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

Brief Description

Based in Nairobi, the position will report to the Chief Corporate Security Officer; Safaricom PLC. The holder of the position will be responsible for overall risk and compliance management of M-Pesa business in the region.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Formulating the strategy and framework for compliance and risk within the M-Pesa space, not limited to identifying key risks, monitoring such risks, creating and implementing a robust compliance program.
  • Accountability to the Audit & Risk Committee and Board for the delivery of the compliance requirements in order to underpin the delivery of M-Pesa products.  Regular interaction with C-Suite personnel in M-Pesa markets and third parties including to ensure that minimum requirements are met.
  • Ensuring compliance with all M-Pesa policies and regulatory requirements.  The creation and implementation of a robust compliance framework.
  • Ensuring compliance and adherence to Anti Money Laundering regulations (including FATF guidance) as well as being accountable for the development and functionality of the Anti-Money Laundering platform that the markets need in order to comply with applicable global sanctions regulations, including Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and screening for Politically Exposed Persons.
  • Management and implementation of the GSMA Mobile Money Accreditation program ensuring that markets retain their accreditation also ensuring that other markets achieve accreditation in the near future.
  • Management of the Anti-Money Laundering shared service centre team in respect of watchlist screening and transaction monitoring.  To be responsible for the development and implementation of compliance training requirements for M-Pesa:  monitoring the market plans and sharing best practice as and when required.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all new product development is risk assessed and meets the pre-defined risk appetite.
  • Management of a small team of direct reports.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years’ experience in a financial services environment with at least 4 years of which should be in a senior leadership position
  • Possesses a relevant Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable organization
  • Professional qualifications ideally in the field of Anti-Money Laundering and/or compliance
  • Clear people leadership experience
  • Evidence of Anti-Money Laundering leadership and knowledge
  • Excel at setting up networks within a high-growth environment and agility at working in a fast moving environment
