Our client, in the manufacturing and warehousing industry, is seeking to recruit a visionary and result oriented Vice Chief Finance Officer (V/CFO) to be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, S/he will be in charge of the following:
Responsibilities:
- Establish Finance/Accounting strategies by: evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production and productivity.
- Design and introduce modern Financial/Accounting system, process and work flows.
- Design a wide variety of accounting and statistical data reports.
- Propose short, medium and long term financial/accounting objectives per the strategy.
- Develop organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement; accumulating capital to fund expansion.
Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances. - Advise on how to maximize return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities.
- Consult on the enterprise’s Cash and Currency Management, banking relationships, obtaining finance, credit management, insurance, taxes.
- Enforce with tact, consideration and good judgement, compliance with the established rules and regulations and follow up on the performance of the duties assigned.
- Evaluate financial and statistical results to appraise future requirements for equipment and cash, and to appraise financial forecast results.
- Plan and execute the most effective utilization of all corporate funds.
- Evaluate all insurance requirements of the Enterprise and its personnel and purchases such insurance to the best advantage of the company.
- Evaluate and makes recommendations regarding the financial impact of investment opportunities.
- Ensure that all accounting activities within the company are reported on the financial reports of the Company.
- Ensure that all accounting transactions within the company are in accordance with the company policies and procedures and company records fairly reflect current status.
- Provide different training to the company employees on different financial/accounting activities.
Qualifications And Requirements:
- A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance.
- ACCA or equivalent certification is advantageous.
- A minimum of 10 years as CFO/Vice CFO/ Director or Equivalent position preferably in publicly traded manufacturing company.
