Role Purpose

Ensure effective front office and back office support to clients/brokers to enable smooth administration and achieve customer satisfaction both internally and externally.

Responsibilities for the SME Medical Underwriter Job

  • Maintaining up to date (within the stipulated TAT) and an accurate membership database for all schemes (Fully Insured, Hybrid, Fully SelfFunded)
  • Setting up and managing of membership details in Actisure for accounts allocated within TAT’s set System input & update of medical benefits purchased and members covered
  • Ensure renewal terms are signed off by clients
  • Preparation of policy documents and endorsements within agreed TAT Verification of client membership data within the stipulated TAT Re – indexing of all relevant membership DME documents
  • Preparation and issuing debit and credit notes within the stipulated TAT to the client/broker/Jubilee Insurance Accounts department while observing due process
  • Ensure medical photo and smart card (both for new members & replacements) are issued, receipted and distributed within the stipulated TAT
  • Co-ordinate preparation and dispatch of medical and smart cards (new members & card replacements) within the stipulated TAT
  • Preparation of work reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) for Management & clients
  • Attending to customers and addressing their queries within the set TAT Verification of claims status during member deletion
  • Verification of claims on DME

SME Medical Underwriter Job Qualifications

  • Graduate in business related degree (marketing, commerce, insurance, and economics) Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite and packages
  • Professional insurance certificates/ diplomas/ advanced diploma
  • People management skills both of internal and external partners
  • Team player Presentation skills
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience
