KMET a local NGO with its Headquarters in Kisumu, collaborating with Massachusetts General Hospital, USA seeks to assess the incidence of Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) and usage of Uterine Balloon Tamponade (UBT) and to identify the contextual and behavioral facilitators and barriers to the usage of UBT during maternal hemorrhage emergencies in the project implementation sites.
This study will be administered through assessment of PPH incidences and observing deliveries.
To achieve the above, KMET seeks to hire (temporary basis) 34 RAs who will be responsible for collecting high quality data using the techniques mentioned above from the study sites. The nature of the assignment requires one to stay within close proximity to one of the study sites i.e. Kisumu (12), Kakamega (8) & Nairobi (14).
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Attend 12 days training to understand how to comprehensively collect the required data
- To accurately collect data using the techniques mentioned above
- Maintain regular and clear records of the observation processes
- Maintain compliance with all organizational policies, research ethical requirements and study procedures.
- Document and write a comprehensive report on findings based on the observations made.
- Perform any other study related duties as maybe assigned.
Required:
- Successful candidate MUST have practiced for at least One (1) year and deemed qualified as a Clinician/Nurse/Midwife.
- Must be able to dedicate his/her time for at least One month uninterrupted during the period.
- Must be licensed with and upto date with relevant bodies.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake a Research.
- Should have experience in Conducting Deliveries (required).
- Fluency in both English & Swahili
Ability and willingness to work on Day, Night and Weekend Shifts
