Our client, an Educational Institution seeks to recruit a Housekeeping Supervisor who will ensure standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness are maintained throughout the school. She/ he will also manage the ancillary staff efficiently to maintain standards and control costs.

Responsibilities for the Housekeeping Supervisor Job
- Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for cleaning and develop new procedures to increase efficiency of labor and product use.
- Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
- Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
- Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation
- Approval of supply requisitions for the housekeeping and to maintain minimum stock and cost control procedures for all materials.
- Forecasting and budgeting for operating and capital expenditure.
- Periodical stocktaking and maintaining of stock records for all housekeeping supplies
- Ensure proper management of Staff amenities and ensure occupational health and safety standards are maintained.
- Records data regarding work assignments, personnel actions and prepares periodic reports.
- Organize, supervise and coordinate the work of housekeeping staff on day- to day basis.
- Prepare duty rosters and supervise the discipline and conduct of the staff.
- Recruit new employees and train them for the housekeeping jobs.
- Counsel and motivate employees on various duties.
Housekeeping Supervisor Job Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Housekeeping/Institution management
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in all aspects of Housekeeping in a large facility required, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to maintain a budget
- Capable of using independent judgment/solid decision making skills ability
- Activator/self-motivated to accomplish goals, with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, diverse environment
- Proven leadership, developer and delegation skills with an ability to lead employees to achieve the departmental goals
- Excellent problem solver and decision make
