The County Government of Bomet through the Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions: –
Co-operative Officer – J/G CPSB 07/10 (3 Posts)
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Officer in charge, he or she will be responsible for: –
- Promoting co-operative societies.
- Coordinating the trainings on cooperative management and microfinance, and supervise the implementation of the county government’s strategic plans through driving performance of teams in all the service outlets.
- Supervising, monitoring and evaluating the performance of the cooperatives, microfinance and marketing activities.
- Providing technical advice in the planning and design of marketing of all products on offer/produce in line with wishes of cooperatives and market needs identified.
- Advising on co-operative investments
- Analyzing data for policy formulation;
- Enforcing compliance with co-operative legislation;
- Developing and monitoring work plans for co-operative extension services;
- Overseeing and evaluating co-operative activities.
- Advice societies on economic viability
Requirements
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Business Administration, Agribusiness Management, Economics, Statistics, Agricultural Economics, Co-operative Management.
- CPA section III and above qualification is an added advantage
- Understanding of the SASSRA regulations is a key requirement
- Minimum three (3) years relevant experience
