Pastry Commis Chef at Lavington Hotel

Responsible for preparing food products of the highest quality in terms of freshness, taste, and consistency, with strict adherence to food and health guidelines and in accordance with the policies, procedures, and standards established to ensure maximum internal and external customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Pastry Chef with deserts preparation
  • Decorating and plating various pastries and deserts
  • Maintaining the work area to a clean, hygienic and tidy state at all times
  • Assist in other areas of the kitchen when required
  • Compliance with all recipes according to the menu plan
  • Responsible for dealing carefully with equipment, machines and cleaning agents
  • Overview of the product quantities and quality for the responsible storage room
  • Responsible of the hygiene for the own kitchen area as well as the cold storage /storage room according to company standards
  • Adherence to cleanliness and hygienic regulations in compliance with HACCP and company standards
  • Execution of weekly general cleaning at the workplace
  • Joint responsibility for the adherence to safety rules in the kitchen area
  • Temperature check of all meals before service
  • Assist with the monthly and annual stock counts for the kitchen. • Assist with the recording and monitoring of all wastage from the kitchen.
  • Ensure correct procedures are followed regarding checking and recording of food temperatures. • Ensure high standards of hygiene are achieved in the kitchen and maintained at all times. • Ensure that the kitchen and equipment is left clean and tidy at the end of each working day and that this is duly recorded in the ‘End of Day’ HACCP log in the absence of the Pastry Chef.
  • Produce consistent product and follow recipes sanctioned by Supervisor.
  • To produce all baked item need to operate in all food and beverages outlets, including various breads, Danish, croissants, brioche, rolls etc.
  • Make sure food is sent to correct area on time.
  • Notify supervisor of any problems or complaints as and when they arise.

  • At least 1-2 years of hotel or prior experience in a comparable position
  • Ability to work long hours and under pressure
