As part of the Global Advocacy and Policy team in the Policy,Public Affairs and Campaigns (PPC) Department, the post-holder will coordinate and carry out UK and international advocacy on crisis contexts supporting strategies of Christian Aid’s programmes in crisis situation, including in settings where we are carrying out a humanitarian response. This role will support country teams, humanitarian staff and partners by creating advocacy opportunities for them, amplifying national level advocacy at the international level, and contribute towards meeting our change objectives. The post holder will take an active lead in developing, overseeing, and coordinating as appropriate the practical implementation of national and international advocacy initiatives.
About you:
We are looking for a strategic thinker, with strong understanding of how political and policy change happens and with a track record of implementing effective advocacy strategies.You will need to be a great team player with proven experience of building constructive working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, networks and coalition and have experience of working on humanitarian or conflict issues, preferably in an affected country.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of conflict and humanitarian issues and actors, including as they relate to international development, poverty and inequality. We are also looking for a good communicator able to translate complex policy issues to different audiences. Good knowledge in online social media campaigning, understanding of peacebuilding work by NGOs experience of working with or on behalf of faith-based group as well as ability to speak Arabic, Spanish or French is also desired.
