The jobholder will join the ICT Service Delivery team working directly with staff, to deliver business-focused ICT Services by supporting the use of hardware (including desktop PCs, laptops, and mobile devices) and software (including operating systems, applications and utilities) in a networked environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide technical support and advice as required across the office for all the staff
- Build and distribute new and re-configured devices (PCs, laptops and mobile devices).
- To adopt a proactive approach and responsibility in providing ICT support, advice and one to one training to staffs
- To install, maintain, upgrade and repair a wide range of ICT equipment.
- Rectify problems relating to the malfunction of ICT equipment including software
- Respond to ICT Support requests in a timely fashion to ensure minimum disruption to the company activities at all times.
- Assist with computer recycling and arrange for the safe disposal of used toner cartridges.
- Install and upgrade both systems and application software as required adhering to all licensing regulations
- To maintain an inventory of computer hardware and software (including licenses).
- Perform preventive maintenance duties on items of ICT hardware, including the cleaning of equipment.
- Maintain and help develop the company’s network.
- To provide support for the company information management system (CIMS) and associated software.
- Follow office backup, virus protection and security procedures. Note risks to ICT systems and suggest precautions to the ICT Systems Manager.
- To assist with the design and maintenance of the company’s intranet, web site and digital signage system ensuring they are populated with current data at all times.
- To monitor and maintain general ICT consumable stock to ensure adequate supplies are available in a timely and cost effective manner ensuring Best Value at all times
- Create user accounts for staff to access the company network including other specific/departmental software used in office.
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
Minimum qualifications:
- A minimum of a degree in Information Technology, engineering or Computer Science
- Certification as ICT professional will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- At least 3 years of relevant experience is required
- Experience in handling ICT functions or operational ICT in a large organization
- Ability to apply detailed knowledge and support skills within ICT to deliver an effective and efficient service covering; (as appropriate)
