Accountant Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the objective of the position is to examine, analyze, and prepare financial records and statements for the University as well as provide input and advice on financial matters.
Qualifications for the Accountant Job
Have at least a bachelor degree in business with a bias in Finance or Accounting from a recognized University;
Have a professional qualification in accounting: CPA (K) or ACCA qualified;
Have a minimum of B plain in KCSE or its equivalent;
Working knowledge of IFRS.
Ability to use Ms Office Suite, internet and an ability to easily learn and work with new accounting system.
At least two (2) years’ experience as an accountant or finance officer in a reputable institution.
Ability to implement strong internal controls.
Able to maintain data integrity and confidentiality.
Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
Demonstrate proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability;
Demonstrate ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast- paced environment
