Qualifications for the Civil Engineer Job
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Civil Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Engineering Technology or equivalent and relevant qualification from a university recognized in Kenya.
- been registered by the Engineers’ Registration Board as a Graduate Engineer.
Civil Engineer Job Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a more experienced officer. Specific duties and responsibilities shall include:
- assisting in safety and hazard assessment including technical inspection of oil and gas installations;
- assisting in undertaking plant design and operations;
- preparing construction specifications and operating instructions;
- collecting chemical engineering data; and
- preparing safety notices and permits under the Petroleum Act.
NOTE:
Shortlisted candidates shall be required to submit clearances from the following bodies:
- Kenya Revenue Authority;
- Higher Education Loans Board;
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission;
- Any of the registered Credit Reference Bureaus; and
- Directorate of Criminal Investigations (certificate of good conduct).
