This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of a more senior and experienced officer.
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Certificate in any of the following fields:- Laboratory Science, Laboratory Technology or Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution
Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities at this level include:
- Cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glass ware, surfaces and equipment.
- Collecting, receiving, recording, packaging, dispatching, analyzing and preserving test samples and disposing laboratory waste
- Preparing media stains, stains and dyes
