1. Branch Manager

Introduction

To develop and grow the business by driving a good relationship between Clients, Agents Brokers and Banks in region in a manner that ensures achievement of set business targets

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

Degree in Sales and Marketing/Insurance

Progress towards CII

 Experience:

  • At least 4 years’ experience in marketing insurance products and managing visibility of company brand.
  • Experience in Insurance company is preferable

Job Specification

  • Direct and control the branch team to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and aligned so as to achieve company’s objectives.
  • Raise the company’s profile and enhancing its visibility by positioning it strategically in the Industry through Brand Positioning and Brand Building
  • Develop effective branch marketing strategies by creating a sustainable and comprehensive sales and marketing plans.
  • Analyze customer research, current market conditions and competitor information at UAP Branch.
  • Support Branch in establish innovative processes to manage existing customer expectations

2. Relationship Manager, Retail Schemes – Faulu

Introduction

Reporting to the Head of Retail Banking and Bancassurance, the role-holder will develop business opportunities in the segment of the bank by creating schemes relationships for growth of the bank products. S/he will ensure deeper penetration of the existing schemes by arranging for outreach activities in liaison with the branch teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • A degree in a business-related field i.e. Bachelor of Commerce, Business Studies, Economics or Banking/Finance.
  • AKIB or Marketing Course
  • Formal training in lending/relationship management
  • At least 5 years managerial experience with proven track record for delivery of superior results
  • Experience in lending /credit management

Job Specification

  • Business Growth
    • Creating strategies for increased schemes penetration.
    • Modelling cross-selling initiatives to increase customer wallet share in existing schemes.
    • Based on market intelligence, s/he to advise the segment head on the product improvements necessary for a better appeal.

    • Marketing of the Bank products in the schemes

  • Schemes Customer Service
    • Identify specific schemes customer needs and respond through product development
    • Working with marketing through the Head of Retail banking and Bancassurance to ensure a pleasant customer experience.
    • Need based cross-selling of all the Bank products and services including Bancassurance.
  • Monitoring and Control of Bank’s portfolio
    • Ensuring compliance with Bank’s credit policy and Government regulations
    • Regularly monitor all non-performing accounts per scheme
    • Liaise with the respective scheme leadership to ensure facilitated booking, verification and tracking of clients who have left employment in various schemes.
    • Maintain and evaluate quality of Loans to ensure compliance with lending guidelines.
    • Advise whenever the MOU covenants need revamping or review for the optimal business.
    • Preparation of special business reports on credit disbursements, loan arrears and productivity in each scheme.
  • Staff functions
    • Adopting a proactive and energetic work style to enhance customer/ interdepartmental /branch delight.
    • Offer advice to the officers on matters and issues relating to Retail Schemes.
    • Upholding the required professional and technical knowledge by attending and contributing to the appropriate Training programmes

3. Relationship Manager, Agribusiness – Faulu

Introduction

Reporting to the Senior Relationship Manager – Agribusiness, will be responsible for business development & growth of the Agribusiness Banking portfolio by working closely with FMFB Senior Management, Leadership Team, Branch Management teams, Credit and other stakeholders in the Bank.

Minimum Requirements

  • A degree in agriculture or business related field i.e. Agribusiness, Bachelor of Commerce, Business Studies, Economics, Cooperative or Banking/Finance.
  • Formal training in Lending/Relationship management – Agriculture
  • ACIB/AKIB or Marketing Course
  • Certificate in Agribusiness Financing – KSMS
  • Masters in a business-related field will be an added advantage.

Knowledge and Skills

  • A detailed knowledge of bank’s products relating to the Agribusiness segment.
  • A good knowledge of other Bank products and services to facilitate cross-selling.
  • A good understanding of the current trends both in the banking industry and the corporate world of business.
  • A detailed knowledge of the Bank’s liability products and of the Bank’s policies is essential.

Job Specification

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implementation of the Agribusiness Banking portfolio strategy in line with the Bank’s overall strategy and business growth plan.
  • Working closely with stakeholders in Senior Management, Leadership Team, Branch Management teams and Credit to increase market share of the Agribusiness Banking portfolio in terms of number of farmer groups and agribusiness partners, customer numbers, products and service consumption and revenues while proactively reducing the non-performing loan book.
  • Driving sales through effective leadership, guidance and performance management process within the branch network and relationships.
  • Working directly with Branches and Agribusiness Banking officers to drive account utilization and hence cheap and stable deposits.
  • Identification and capitalizing on new market opportunities to expand presence, competitiveness and profitability through proactively selling of products and services.
  •  Improving the business environment and raising the profile for the Agribusiness Banking segment in the Bank.
  •  Establishing profitable banking relationships with Agribusiness Banking clients by providing high quality banking and other financial services to that clientele where the Bank operates.
  •  Advice the Bank on Agribusiness Banking market analysis and segmentation with regards to Agribusiness financial products, credit Risk evaluation processes, loan monitoring, collections and debt recovery procedures.
  • In liaison with other stakeholders, ensure quality portfolio by effective identification of risks and their mitigations.
  • Representing the Bank and business unit in forums, meetings and fast track the implementation of the relevant agreed action points.
  • Monitor, on a continuous basis, all transactions to ensure that unusual and suspicious transactions are reported to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).
