Position: Project Coordinator – Sanitation and Hygiene
Reporting to: Technical Specialist – Sanitation and Hygeine
Grade Level: 13
Work Location: Nairobi
Purpose of Position
To provide technical support to sanitation and hygiene programs especially in the area of sanitation marketing, social and behavior change.

- Ensure that all interventions under his/her jurisdiction within the program areas meet planned outcomes and are implemented in full compliance with WVK, GOK, WHO, SPHERE and other relevant partnership and international standards and guidelines.

- Conduct regular field monitoring visits to ensure quality implementation of sanitation marketing initiatives, water quality and disability friendly WASH.

- Provide documentation of sanitation marketing innovations, WASH disability programming best practices, to facilitate publishing and sharing of the findings with relevant partners and stakeholders as appropriate.

- Create, manage and maintain relationship with relevant stakeholders

- Effective coordination with other stakeholders in the sanitation and hygiene sector

- Ensure program visibility and participation in Sanitation marketing Technical Working Groups/ meetings and other relevant networks.

- Actively participate in the Program meetings, and other WVK forums and meetings as appropriate

- Integration of the program into WVK programming

- Collaborate with the National Office Technical Specialist for Sanitation and Hygiene to provide timely guidance during implementation of grant sanitation and hygiene activities.

Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or Environmental Health
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with regard to designing, planning, implementation, supervising and reporting on integrated development, sanitation and Hygiene Programs in the NGO sector
- Experience in social behaviour change programming and sanitation marketing-very key
- Experience working with county government and local implementing partners.
- Experience in sanitation and hygiene co-ordination mechanisms such as relevant technical working groups is an added advantage.
- Must be a results orientated person who can handle a heavy work load as well as manage and satisfy multiple and at times conflicting organizational, donor and other stakeholder demands and
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report-writing and formal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Lotus Notes (or another main email system such as Microsoft Outlook).
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, and ability to work with a wide range of people from different backgrounds.
- Good understanding of World Vision and Sphere relief standards.
- Knowledge of and adherence to the NGO Code of Conduct.
