Role Purpose:
The incumbent will be responsible for the planning, operation and maintenance of the mobile financial services platforms. This is a key role in the overall execution of the Technology strategy and will require a multi-disciplinary approach where Financial, Customer & Internal processes and people management come together.

Academic/ Professional Qualifications

- 3-5 years in the design, implementation, operation and maintenance of mobile money platforms.

2. Field Engineer– Special Project

About This Role
The incumbent will be responsible for achieving network availability and customer uptime KPI’s through on-site maintenance for assigned network nodes, customer links, reactive repair for network and customer faults, route inspection, ensuring the quality and continuity of the services as per the company KPIs, within the budgeted costs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain consistent network and customer availability on assigned nodes through proactive maintenance of nodes, timely network fault resolution and route inspections to minimize impact of faults on network availability.
- Timely management of assigned faults and resolution within SLA.
- Preventative maintenance and route inspection per assigned nodes.
- Facilitation of key updates during the restoration journey to ensure customer is fully updated.
- Customer setup documentation.
- Carry out assigned tasks within the Feasibility and Implementation dockets.

Academic/ Professional Qualifications

- Ability to configure Routers (e.g. Cisco, Microtik, Edge router), Switches and Firewalls.
- Demonstrate ability to calculate link budget and route design for optical link.
- Fiber training / Ability to use all types of splicing equipment and OTDR and the accompanying test gears(power meter cable identifier)
- Cisco qualifications, minimum CCNA or any other IP Network certification.
- Candidates trained on Safety at Height / Rigging will be an added advantage

3. Radio Planning & Optimization Engineer

About This Role
Responsible for 2G/3G and 4G planning and optimization of GSM, UMTS, LTE .The role holder is responsible for overseeing the design, deployment, and optimization of wireless telecommunications networks. Managing the design phase will include overseeing pre-deployment equipment analysis, technology assessment, radio network planning, access planning, and interference analysis, demand planning, test and measurement of the equipment, and interfacing with the market development team. In the optimization stage, main tasks are to supervise optimal network performance, KPI and network statistics analysis, and parameter optimization.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse the GSM/WCDMA/HSPA/LTE Radio Network Statistics on daily basis. Achieve & maintain the Radio Network Performance as per the contracted OSS KPIs(Accessibility, Availability, Retainability Mobility & Service Integrity) within company set thresholds.
- Respond to all customer complaints within stipulated SLA. Address coverage and capacity complaints from customer by providing implementable solutions and ensuring closure as per SLA.
- Continuously conduct consistency checks on radio parameters and daily execute corrections with the RNO guidelines.
- Analyse drive test reports including benchmarking reports and implement optimisation recommendations suggested.
- Identify pockets of poor network quality and suggest resolutions for clearing interference ad KPI degradations.
- Execute Network dimensioning tasks to address capacity and coverage requirements by optimally optimising network interfaces and nodes to cater for 2G/3G/LTE v voice and data traffic. This will include TRX additions, 3G upgrades, CE expansions, Power Optimisation, BSC/RNC board capacity utilisations/dimensioning.
- Prepare requested network/Cells KPIs statistics for analysis of incident reports.
- Handling of trials projects, feature testing, POC for new product/features and produce trial detailed reports and business case analysis, follow up on special projects assigned to RNPO with technical reports and results and practising efficient finals Managements.
- Perform radio site surveys, site candidate evaluation/selection and link budget planning for both new radio site integration and radio site relocation
- Use specialised propagation modelling tools to conduct coverage planning, capacity planning, interference analysis and optimisation.
- Carry out optimization techniques for optimal site/cluster performance.
- Define and/or adapt processes and procedures for RF engineering tasks.
Academic background.
- BSC in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication, ICT or related course
- At least 5 yrs. experience in RAN Network planning and optimisation 2 of which should be directly with ZTE and /Huawei
- Advance certifications in IT/T related courses.

4. Senior Core Network Engineer -Nairobi

Role Purpose:
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for planning, Design and engineering of Circuit and Packet Switched Core Telecommunication Networks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for design and capacity planning for the GSM Circuit Switched Core Network nodes including but not limited to MSC, HRLR/HSS, MGW, STP(SPS)
- Evaluate new and existing hardware, planning & design for new solutions, implementation & integration of new hardware/Software, project management, and optimization of the CS-Core network.
- Translate marketing inputs into core network architecture and design for mobile circuit switched service.
- Configure data for new system with vendors and create work instructions for existing systems.
- Provide recommendation reports to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization of existing CS-core services.
- Manage all software and hardware configuration for the CS-Core nodes.
- Set relevant KPIs for the CS-core network and ensure they are met

5. Senior Engineer – Service Design | Telkom Kenya Limited

Role Purpose:
The incumbent will be responsible for the fulfillment of business requirements on existing and new service platforms and enablers including requirements elicitation, analysis, planning and implementation in accordance with organizational objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Subject matter expertise and architecting of charging, policy and VAS solutions
- Translating the business requirements into the technical and operational specifications
- Provide technical specifications and other requirements for sourcing of service platforms
- Manage Vendor and Supplier relationships to support development and implementation of new business products and offers
- Service and capacity forecasting, planning, deployment and optimization of the platforms
- Handling and coordinating the services implementation and configuration on the service nodes, primarily focusing on business requests such as tariffs, brands, lifecycle management, etc.
