INTERN – Strategic Monitoring and Reporting at United Nations Human Settlements Programme

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, is the agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all.

The Strategic Monitoring and Reporting Unit is about to launch a global online Urban Agenda Platform that will serve as the central progress reporting mechanism on the New Urban Agenda and urban-related SDGs, and facilitate the exchange of knowledge, innovation and best practices. It is expected that the Platform will be an innovative knowledge management tool for the Agency and the UN system. It will be a key contribution by UN-Habitat to the Knowledge Pillar of the UN system-wide approach to sustainable urbanization.

The Platform will advance the systematic access, progress tracking, sharing, and uptake of best practices and policies by the member states and key partners. The Intern will provide support and contribute to the coordination, development and launch support of the Platform
