Overall purpose of the job:
To co-ordinate and controlthe activities of the laboratory in the Outpatient centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensurequality, accurate and consistent results generationfor outpatient and referral centretests
- Give medical examination feedback in a timely manner
- Attend to customer service queriesin a timely manner
- Supervise staff within the laboratory
- Ensure compliance to standard operating procedures
- Ensure appropriate stock levels versus tests done and functioning of machines.
- Ensure that all medical data within the laboratory is properly managed
- Develop, implement and monitor a system of sample handling and custody
- Develop a result reporting tool and template for research partners
- Establish a proper referral system
- Prepare laboratory reports
- Train and offer support to laboratories that outsource to AAR Healthcare
Position Requirements:
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) in Medical Laboratory Science.
- A Degree/Masters is an added advantage.
- At least two (2) years appropriate experiences in the management of laboratorystaff and functions.
- Musthave a registration certificate from theKenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologist Board.
- Customer service and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Self motivated and a team player
- Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality
- Research experience is an addedadvantage
