MRM Mariakani is seeking to recruit a professional and experienced individual to fill the position of an Operator. The position reports to the Production Engineer.
Overall Purpose of the Position:
Responsible for effective day to day operation of the Annealing plant and equipment.
Specification
- Control the annealing process – loading, purging, heating, soaking & cooling operations.
- Read production schedule to determine processing sequence and furnace temperatures for coils to be annealed.
- Ensure furnace is at the optimum operating conditions for annealing process.
- Monitor the annealing furnaces to ensure safe operations and handle unsafe conditions to ensure the safety of all employees
- Measure, record and document batch activities in the charge sheets/daily report.
- Maintain all annealing parameters – temperature, gas flow & correct sequence of annealing activities to guarantee quality production.
- Unloading of annealed coils from the bases.
- Inspect material to ensure required quality standards.
- Report immediately any equipment issues to the production Engineer & the respective maintenance teams for resolving.
- Perform 5S activities to ensure an organized and clean work place.
Requirements
- Minimum academic qualification: Craft Certificate in relevant engineering discipline
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience in Machine Operations in similar work environment
Key competencies and skills:
- Knowledge on use of measuring equipment such as callipers, micrometres, thermos-guns and tape measures.
- Ability to comprehend mechanical principles of heat treatment and annealing operations.
- Record keeping & data interpretation skills.
- Basic arithmetic and analytical skills.
