Requirements for Appointment

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from an institution
  • Recognized in Kenya;
  • Master’s degree in obstetrics and Gynecology;
  • Fellowship or subspecialty training in Gynecologic Oncology;
  • Certificate of registration by any of the East African medical boards;
  • Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board; or certificate of good conduct from any of the east African medical boards

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning and implementation of care in area of specialization within the facility and for the county including specialist oncology outpatient clinics, gynecology ward rounds and specialist oncology theatres and outreach clinics;
  • Participate in planning and implementation of specific projects and programs preventive and promotive services; related to cancers of the reproductive health;
  • Provide expert opinion in case management and advice on medical and medical administrative problems;
  • Teaching supervision and mentorship of interns and other team members within the lanes of specialty;
  • Manage aspects of care in the gynecology oncology specialist units/clinics;
  • Participation in quality assurance and improvement of services in gynecological oncology;
  • Coordinating emergency response and clinical care;
  • Provision of forensic and medico-legal services;
  • Developing medical Standard Operating Procedures (SOP);
  • Promote research within the specialty;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

NOTE:

Interested applicants are expected to get clearance from the following bodies:

  1. Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA);
  2. Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
  3. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission;
  4. Criminal Investigation Department (Certificate of Good Conduct);
  5. Credit Reference Bureau (CRB);
  6. Commission of University Education (for clearance of foreign qualifications).
