Dental Officer at Trans-Nzoia County Public Service Board

Trans Nzoia County is among the 47 counties established by the Kenya Constitution under article 6(1) and specified in the First Schedule. Article 176 (1) establishes a county government for each county consisting of the county assembly and the county executive.

The Trans Nzoia county government was operationalized in March 2013 after the country’s general election with H.E Hon. Patrick Simiyu Khaemba as the first popularly elected Governor.

SALARY:KSH.47,780X2,170-49,950X2,550-52,500X2,650-55,150X2,750-57,900X2,920-60,820X3,080-63,900 P.M.

Duties and Responsibilities

An officer at this level will work under the supervision of a senior and experienced Officer. Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: providing dental care including: diagnosing common oral conditions, treating, prescribing and referring; carrying out minor oral and maxillofacial surgery; prosthetics and conservative dentistry; facilitating admission, disease investigations of patients, report writing and assisting in theater activities; collecting information on dental health information system; organizing discharge summaries and follow-up of patients; and acting as the first on call duty.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (DS) degree or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
  • Successfully completed one(1) year internship from a recognized institution;
  • Registration license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
