Key Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in establishing design requirements for electrical systems in liaison with stakeholders and prepare specifications documents for approval.
Assist in the design all projects according to BS 7671 and other applicable standards while upholding all safety requirements.
Generate single line diagrams and detailed engineering drawings in AutoCAD electrical.
Generate bill of materials, estimate costs and help prepare budgets for new projects. Be proactive in suggesting areas of project cost savings without compromising the intended functionality and safety of the project.
Participate in the identification and sourcing of contractor services for new projects in liaison with the Procurement team and other stakeholders.
Assist in review and conducting background checks on all contractors to assess competency and capacity to deliver proposed electrical projects.
Assist in overseeing the successful installation and commissioning of electrical projects.
Maintain an up-to-date projects folder with structured document indexing for easy reference.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

0-2 years’ experience in the field of electrical engineering.
Hands-on experience using design and calculation software (Auto-Card Electrical)
Understanding of applicable electrical engineering codes and safety standards.
Problem-solving skills: be able to assimilate and analyze information effectively and objectively to make informed decisions quickly.
Attentive to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively and influence others.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide-range of people and proactive in supporting others.
A degree in Electrical Engineering; MSc is a plus.
