Philips Research and development in Africa is implementing primary health care project in Kenya known as community Life Centre (CLC). The community life centre elements consist of infrastructure, technology, IT, Services and monitoring and Evaluation. These projects are currently implemented in Kiambu, Mandera, Makueni counties of Kenya and Afar region; Ethiopia.
Scope of work
The intern for community Life centre will serve as a project management assistant for the community life centres within the context of primary health care in Kenya. He/she will provide the following support
- Assist with assessment for primary health care centres
- Assist in the planning and execution of the CLC projects
- Provide logistical support and rapporteuring during meetings and focus group and co-creation
- Assist in preparation and logistics for the project
- Assist in getting quotations from the vendors
- Assist in documentation, reporting and filing
- Conduct project/other tasks on other R&D project areas as assigned by the project manager and/or Head of Research, Africa
Qualifications
- Basic degree or diploma in health sciences, social sciences, behavioral sciences, population studies, health systems research, or a related field
- Experience in working with partners especially ministry of health
- Knowledge of Health care setting in Kenya
- Strong skills on Microsoft office
- Strong organization and interpersonal skills
Deliverable
Weekly update reports to project manager
Weekly logistics update reports to project manager
Terms: The intern will work for 8 hours during working days for up-to 6 months with possibility of extension. The task may include travelling to the field
Supervision: The staff will be reporting to the project manager (s) and Head of Research (Philips R&D East Africa) and work closely with AMREF, DREAM, County Health department, consultants and vendors
