Reporting to the Finance Manager, ensures the financial integrity, transparency and accountability of all financial transactions related to project activities. He/ she must provide consolidated financial plans and reports for the projects as needed within the requirements of donors and partners.
Responsibilities
- Ensure financial project reports are prepared in accordance with contractual agreements
- Liaise with auditor and prepare audit schedules during project and institution Audits.
- Oversee asset management and finally depreciate assets at the end of the year.
- Project fund management (Receive and disburse funds on our behalf).
- Respond to donor queries relating to programmes/ projects.
- Filing of programme financial support documents/payment documents.
- Prepare Annual and Bi-annual project report as per contractual agreements.
- Submission of financial reports to the donors.
- Ensure to comply with internal and external regulations with the respective support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Education and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounts or related field from a credited institution of higher learning. In addition, applicants must be CPA (K) holders or an equivalent related field from a credited institution of higher learning.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years working experience in a demanding environment or an International organization, on general accounting ledger, and financial reporting; and presentation skills with the ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely.
- Experience of developing financial operational systems and schedules.
- Knowledge and proficiency in finance/accounting principles (comply with regulations and laws).
- Must have the ability to plan and work with limited supervision.
Specialized Knowledge and skills required
- Experience in monitoring implementation of project activities.
- Proven ability to work with multiple teams.
- Experience of leading on financial aspects of multi-country donor contract management and providing advice on complex financial management.
- Sound knowledge of project monitoring and evaluation.
- Networking and partnership building skills.
- Experience in using accounting software’s appropriate for a large international organization (e.g. SUN Accounts, Pastel Evolution and Vision Excel).
- Experience of developing financial operational systems and schedules.
