St Andrew’s School, Turi is highly respected in Kenya and regarded as one of the leading international schools in East Africa. Numbering 550 pupils, it comprises two semi-autonomous schools: a Preparatory School of circa 220 pupils between the ages of 3 and 13 and a Senior School of circa 330 pupils between the ages of 13 and 18. It is fully coeducational and the great majority are boarders. The School has an overtly Christian foundation and sees its overall aim as encouraging young men and women to ‘live and lead with integrity’.Remuneration

There is a generous overall remuneration package that includes:

  1. Medical care: all members of staff and their families are covered under a comprehensive insurance scheme.
  2. Pension: The School operates a defined contribution pension scheme in which the employer and employee each contribute 6% of monthly salary. For employ- ees emigrating from Kenya at the end of their contract, the full value of the contributions, plus accumulated interest, can be withdrawn from the scheme.
  3. Meals: These are provided during term time as a taxable benefit.
  4. Facilities: extensive sports facilities are open to use by staff and their families
  5. Housing: onsite housing not provided. Staff expected to live within Nakuru County.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Law or relevant discipline.
  2. High Court Advocate, with practicing certificate
  3. Certified Company Secretary ICPSK registration, with a practicing certificate

KNOWLEDGE

  1. A demonstrable understanding of the principles of Company legal & compliance needs & requirements
  2. IT systems literate
  3. A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children
  4. Understanding of wider legal & compliance benchmarks within Kenya and worldwide

EXPERIENCE 5-7 years’ experience in

  1. Company Secretarial work.
  2. A track record of success in managing Company legal matters
  3. Ability to train staff to achieve high compliance levels
  4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
  5. Ability to achieve risk management goals
  6. Ability to take initiative to
  7. identify opportunities and take appropriate action, organize and manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and meet,deadlines.
  8. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams and individuals without being their line manager
