Bahari Forwarders Limited was incorporated some 25 years ago with an objective of carrying out business as Clearing, Forwarding and Transport Company. Ever since its inception the shareholders and directors had a common vision for its geographical growth and expansion. Along the years, Bahari Forwarders Limited has steadily grown within the industry serving all kinds of clients averaging from small to big, low profile to high profile in the East Africa region.
Minimum Requirements:
- Appropriate qualification would be preferable
- Exposure in the shipping / logistics / Perishable industry
- Previous 5+ years C & F experience at Management level is essential
- Demonstrate innovative thinking and professional leadership and management principles
- Hands on, action orientation with a “make it happen” approach
- Must be able to travel
Technical knowledge including:
- Forwarding tariff procedures
- Banking procedures
- Clearing documentation for sea and air freight
- Ability to build relationships with authorities in order to challenge ad-hoc decisions
- Research in documentation other than fruit business.
Duties:
- Manage and Control the forwarding/receipt of inbound and outbound cargo’s documentation
- Investigate and research the documentation process for new clients / markets
- Liaise and negotiate with statutory bodies to ensure effective finalization of the documentation process’s
- Manage the C&F team and ensure they are all up to date on new statutory requirements.
- Provide input into the development of operational system
- Ensure procedures are updated and adhered to
