Your Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Build local expertise in to-be Finance processes, systems and changes required
  • Support central and local teams in agreeing essential fit-gap requirement
  • Support local teams in planning to ensure business readiness for cutover, trouble shooting and raising issues with central team Share experiences and learning from other deployments
  • Work with local leads to drive adoption of new processes/ interim processes
  • Support knowledge transfer to local teams.

Experience, Skills And Qualification

  • Conversant with finance and functional integration processes in
  • ERP systems implementation experience and standardization of processes a
  • Have working knowledge of tax and country statutory requirements
  • Qualified Accountant and registered member of ICPAK
  • A team player and team leader with great communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of financial metrics and processes
  • Excellent track record of delivery in previous Finance roles
  • Strong work ethic, resilience in the face of pressure and ability to meet multiple stretching deadlines
  • Strong analytical bias and excellent attention to detail
  • Microsoft Excel skills and PowerPoint capability

Your role

As the SC Finance – Logistics & SC Overheads Controller you will be responsible for driving financial performance and ensure there is financial control in the areas of logistics operations, SC Overheads and business waste. You will be an active member of the Go-To-Market (GTM) Supply Chain Leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Logistics Cost performance management
  • Improve the Logistics forecast accuracy through understanding of cost drivers/ flows
  • Driving cost reduction agenda
  • Controlling Business Waste performance delivery and establishi controls for managing business waste
  • Supply Chain Overheads Controlling
  • Managing overheads budget of the East Africa with budgeting, controlling, reporting, preparing variance analysis.
  • Understanding 3rd Party manufacturing contracts and working on cost reduction initiatives together with Supply chain and Procurement teams
  • Providing financial support for East Africa sourcing strategy development
  • Working with Supply Chain teams for Factory and Logistics network optimization projects
  • Working for Supply Chain finance requirements of the New SAP design
  • Integrating East Africa to global SC Finance way of working and supporting SU-MSO-Principle models
  • Ensure that procedures are set up and operating according to group policies (internal control)
  • Work closely with Central SC Finance Team on SU results

Key Activities

  • Delivery of logistics, SC Overheads and business waste results,
  • Analyze cost variances and propose actions
  • Establish the financial control environment for go-to-market activities
  • Inventory accounting and valuation
  • Accurate and timely reporting of actuals
  • Financial forecasting and annual budget process
  • Cash flow management and reporting
  • Value creation reporting (continuous improvement results)
  • Coordinate internal- and external audit for the GTM activities
  • Contributes Activity Based Costing (ABC) for Transfer Price Calculation

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting/ Finance or equivalent;
  • More than 3 years of experience in Financial, Operational and Business-Partnering roles
  • Excellent leadership skills, accountability and responsibility with a Growth-Mindset and bias for action
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with ability to respond under pressure
  • Experience of working in cross functional teams within a matrix environment desirable
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Analytical, meticulous nature and good attention to detail
  • Flexible and open minded, quick to adapt to changing requirements
